INTECOL (INTECOL)

INTECOL relates to antibacterial preparation of polypeptide antibiotics group. The active ingredient is colistinsulphate – a representative of the group of polymyxins. Colistine is active against gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli. Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiellapneumoniae, Shigella spp. Due to its chemical structure colistin like all of polymyxinsaffects on the cytoplasmic membrane of the bacterial cell by interacting with the phospholipids. It binds to the anionic sites of the membrane and the nature of the action resembles cationic detergents.
