MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
CIPROGEN – new integrated antibacterial preparation the uniqueness of action is based on a combination of two antibacterial components: fluoroquinolone and aminoglycoside. Combination of fluoroquinolones with other antimicrobial preparations usually has an additive or indifferent effect. In the case of a combination of ciprofloxacin and gentamicin observed synergistic effect, i.e. is enhanced antimicrobial action. This is especially expressed in enhancing the bactericidal properties of ciprofloxacin. This effect is due to a similar mechanism of action of both components of the preparation, which is associated with impaired synthesis of DNA and protein, respectively, in a microbial cell. This leads to the death of the microbial cells. What is important, it is not destroyed in the death of the bacterial cell itself. As a consequence, no endotoxin released from dead bacterial cells, which, in turn, leads to serious complications, up to sepsis.
